So, I believe that as of 5pm on October 16th, I will be under the rules and what-not of an LDS missionary. SOOOO...I'm thinking this is the final post here. BUT, for all you loyal fans, I am planning on putting Aubrey in charge of the fabulous "elderdecker" account! That's right, ladies and gentlemen. http://elderdecker.livejournal.com is hopefully going to be a place of wholesome updates and good fun. I doubt replying to anything will be worth while...just write me a letter, instead!

It's been a ball. Hope many of you feel the love and keep in touch. See ya in a couple years!

Stephanie took a stab at Art and I never updating...well here you go.

I woke up this morning around 8:20am for a Cold Stone meeting. I arrived at Cold Stone at 9am, and proceeded to do a lot of nodding and fake laughing through the new owners' presentation. Around 10:30am I returned home.

I walked up the stairs, took off my shoes, told mom "nah, I'm alright" when she asked if I was hungry, and moved to the couch.

I then lied there for the next 6 hours, occasionally fading into bits of sleep, spending the other moments thinking and wishing.

At 4:30pm my cell phone told me to get up and go to work. I ate a bowl of cereal and a bagel, then went to work.

I worked.

I came home at 12:50am.

The end.

Considering the number of times I've repeated this song in my car over the past 3 days, I figure it's worth it to post. I thoroughly enjoy this. If only I looked stoned/confused/angry with a messed up voice... ::sigh:: Only a wish.

Well if Aaron is going to post song lyrics...

"Clean" by Incubus

Today, everything was fine, fine, fine
Until roundabout, quarter to nine,
I suddenly found myself in a bind, a bind.
Was it something I said?
Something I read and manifested that's getting you down.
Don't you dare come to bed with that ambiguous look in your eye,
I'd sooner sleep by an open fire and wake up fried.
Say what you will, say what you mean.
You could never offend, your dirty words come out clean.
Tomorrow, what price will I pay?
Could I make it all up to you
by serving coffee for two in bed?
Would you then gimme the time of day?
I need a map of your head, translated into English
so I can learn to not make you frown.
I'd feel better if you'd vent,
put your frustrations into four letter words
and let them out on mine, the most weathered ears in town.
Say what you will, say what you mean.
You could never offend, your dirty words come out clean.

(fantastic song, by the way)

music: "Pardon Me" by Incubus

My habits have made going to bed before 2:30am seem ridiculous. I should probably fix that.

Aaron called me at work today and reminded me of Tom's thing, so after Sears I called him again. "Uh...it's megan, kremer and i...everyone else is gone...including any Bodes..."...so i thought about life for a moment and went over there anyway. I kinda zoned out on the couch...then tom and steph showed up. woo! they got tired. old people. this is having no highlight...moving along. Key point, though- i never see the old group anymore. it's weird getting updates on things i should know and just going "...oh..."

Griping about work- So the MCA that usually covers electronics and crap is MIA, so they pulled me over to do inventory crap that didn't make sense...i think i might have thrown off the store numbers for the week...oops? for the first time, though, it felt comfortable to get back into the tools section. glass half full?

She's completely ignoring me. How kind.

I smell like smoke from the Bode backyard fire...ugh.

That Terminal Viskacity show was good fun...$8 for 20 minutes, though...jerks. Nah, it was good entertainment. I tried drinking a quart of chocolate milk before going in. Couldn't do it. Thank goodness...that could have been bad.

Allie?

I have ring worm on my arms...gross. (Not quite as gross as it sounds, really....more of just a funny rash...bah.)

Look at the moon...

So i got a bit of a cold. Lame. It has now taken away my voice, leaving my range of vocal expression incredibly limited...very frustrating ("How are you supposed to express your anger in this situation?...zipper it up really quick."). Stupid illness...

I chilled with Allie the other day. We ended up in portland. No cool stories like "WHOA! We so ran over a raccoon and some homeless guy ate it"...but it was a good time, nevertheless. Driving home was stupid. Late night construction is super lame.

I enjoy Crystal Light.

Mother got me to volunteer at Conestoga Middle School's field day. I was paired with some mom and we were in charge of one of the games. Yellin' at the young ones is freakin' hard when my voice is dead and i'm with a woman who just fails at talking above a whisper. Nice lady, but good mercy...VOLUME. Highlight of the day- One of the teams had a mentally handicapped girl, and our station was a timed event, meaning she was definitely hurting the team score. Since i was taking the time, i was really uneasy at first and really afraid of them all blaming her for them not getting a great time. The kids surprised me. They only gave encouragement and had a good time. She was able to have a great time, as well. My tears were held back. Those kids were amazing. I hope Tyler gets that.

I went to Allie and Dayna's pad tonight (Jessica joined us shortly after). I officially sucked it up at Duck Hunt. Wow. ...yeah...wow. Other than that, just good chillin' around...wandering Thriftway...drinkin' mexican soda. They are good kids...(all older than me...but we'll leave "kids" in there...just for thrills.).

I'm starting to be able to help Sears customers...woo?

Oh yeah...last night- Bryce W.'s farewell get together. Good to see some people I haven't seen in a while. Bryce is going away! Holy crap...the mish is creepy close...and i haven't even turned in my papers, yet. haha...
...then we (brice and i) went to Brittany Woodruff's farewell (she's moving)...but she' not leaving for a while...i didn't know that 'till the end. lame. good stuff, though.
...then we (brice and i) went to steal shellie baird and we all drove off to starbucks. and...i met shellie...yup. Nice gal.

...i'm slowly realizing the lack of noteworthy events in here...oh well.

Key ideas- New friends and Conestoga touching moment.

"I find that I'm spiteful and vengeful"
"You wanna bring everyone down with you"
"...can I?"

Okay, so I saw my sister with a bowl of Cap'n Crunch today. I got excited but really put off eating any (I have lost my appetite, lately...but eating covers things so well...argh), so I was being a smart boy...then I folded at 1am. ::Open cupboard to get cereal:: NO MORE CAP'N CRUNCH!? I guess Aubrey and the rest of my family managed to go through the whole box so freakin' quickly. The smart thing would be to not eat, but in my stupidity I poured a bowl of Frosted Mini-Wheats...now I am full of cereal but feel no better.

I have a bit of a cold, too. It feels like there is a balloon being inflated inside my face...ugh.

My hours at Sears were dying and I don't really like the job, so I was gonna quit and try to find a job as a waiter somewhere...but then word got around that i was disgruntled with my hours and my manager added a few...so we'll see what my next schedule has for me and decide from there...I like getting tips too much to be working in a place like Sears.

Conan O'Brien is a rerun tonight. Lame.

Mission papers are in the process.

You're the United Nations!

Most people think you're ineffective, but you are trying to
completely save the world from itself, so there's always going to be a long
way to go.  You're always the one trying to get friends to talk to each
other, enemies to talk to each other, anyone who can to just talk instead of
beating each other about the head and torso.  Sometimes it works and sometimes
it doesn't, and you get very schizophrenic as a result.  But your heart
is in the right place, and sometimes also in New York.
